About Me

I live in Lincoln. I like walking my 2 Shetland Sheepdogs, cracker & Milo, in the countryside. I enjoy reading auto biographies and non fiction (usually WW II). I like to study local history too. To relax, after a stressful round of golf!! I like nothing more than to get out into my workshop (big shed) and do a bit of wood-work.

I'm a part-time photographer, (Weddings, Portraits, etc.), my day job being a signalman.

I'm a lousy golfer, but don't mis-understand me, I play ok but I've got fleas!! Lol! Seriously, I play off 17. A true indication as some days I can be well under, others well over. But I'm trying to work at getting lower, as we all are. I haven't played in a while, due to having a bad back. I also had my Scotty Cameron putter 'half inched' in the run-up to Christmas 2010! Grrr!

I use MacGregor clubs and Driver. I also have 3 & 5 'knife' woods. These were bought as a present. For me, they really do work. Especially good in the long grass, where I usually am!

If I can think of anything else to say. I'll be back!!

P.S. The profile pic is the best I can find on my computer at the mo, but I'm working on it! Anyone wishing to print a copy off, to place on their mantle piece, above the fire, to keep the kids away, may do so..............AT THEIR OWN RISK!!! LOL!

Back home after a nice afternoon's golf. I incorporated Charlie's putting tip into my usual routine and came back 3 putts better than average. First time luck perhaps? I don't know, but it did feel better putting to a 'point' rather than an 'area'. For the record, I was -2 and 28 putts off a 17hcp. Also, the weather MUST have played it's part: sun, no wind and forgiving greens.

Thanks for the recent putting tip Charlie. I'm trying it out this afto (8th Feb). I generally use the "putt the ball 6" past the hole" tip. This is trying to make me get the ball to the hole and not leave it short! "IF IT CAN'T GET THERE, IT CAN'T GO IN!"
Using that tip and yours, I'm going to be mustard this afternoon! Lol!
